A: First, you must petition to join the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America (LOSNA) by applying through Sphinx Court #65, which is based in Phoenix and serves our region. Once you’ve officially joined LOSNA through Sphinx Court, you can then apply to become a member of our local club, Ladies of Mohave.

A: No. Membership in Ladies of Mohave is only available to women who are already members of Sphinx Court #65. Our club is a local branch within that Court and shares in its mission, values, and responsibilities.

A: Any woman 18 years or older who supports the mission of LOSNA. While LOSNA has Masonic roots, you do not need to be related to a Mason to join.

A: You can submit your petition to join LOSNA through Sphinx Court #65 at any time during the year. Once your petition is accepted, you’re welcome to start getting involved socially — attending local events, meeting members, and learning more about our traditions.
However, you won’t be able to attend official Court meetings or be considered a full member until you’ve completed the Ceremonial, which is a special initiation held twice a year — in March and November. That’s when you’re formally welcomed into LOSNA and can begin participating fully in all aspects of membership, including joining Ladies of Mohave.

A: While LOSNA and Sphinx Court #65 don’t have official time requirements, Ladies of Mohave does ask its members to commit to around 5 hours of volunteer service per month.
That service is focused locally at the Mohave Shrine Club, and it can include a variety of activities — such as helping with fundraisers and events, assisting with building improvements, bartending, serving food or drinks, cleaning, or supporting other club projects. There’s a little something for everyone, and we always work together to make it fun and rewarding.
We meet once a month for an official meeting, and members are welcome to participate in as many (or as few) additional activities as they’re comfortable with. We’ve found that the more time you spend with the group, the more connected and fulfilled you’ll feel — this is where friendships grow and the magic really happens.

To join, there is a one-time $40 petition fee and $35 annual dues for LOSNA/Sphinx Court #65. After initiation, you can apply to Ladies of Mohave, which has a $5 application fee and $20 annual dues.

A: That’s completely okay — most of us started out the same way! Ladies of Mohave is a welcoming, inclusive group of women who truly enjoy meeting new people. Our members currently range in age from 19 to their 70s, and we’re open to all women over 18.
